Adults and children can both be victims. Domestic violence is a major human rights issue across the world, and one of New Zealand’s most serious social issues. On the assessment of patients vital signs, it was found that his blood pressure was 125/75. It suggests that the patient's blood pressure is not normal, but he has prehypertension blood pressure. His pulse rate was 66 and respiration rate was 18. Both of these vital signs of the patient were under normal range. While the patient was in the hospital, it was found that he was not taking his food properly and mostly avoided taking part in any activities. He did not like any small group games or one-on-one activities, and he was very irritated when the nurse came to see him and turn s his face away (Happell Gaskin, 2013). The mental state examination was done on patients by the following ways: Level of consciousness- In this the nurse examines state of wakefulness in patients and observes any disorientation, hallucination or irritability sign in patients. It would be hard for nurses to tackle their aggressive behavior and start a conversation with such patients (Townsend, 2014).Secondly, these patients have their own set notion about their life, and they feel they are no more useful to the society. So this attitude leads to suicidal thought in them. Eliminating this thought and instilling in them that life is worth living is the most difficult task by a nurse (Robson et al., 2013). Peru is the fifth most populous country in Latin America and it is known for its ancient history, varied topography and multiethnic population. History of Peru Peru has a long history that dates back to the Norte Chico civilization and the Inca Empire. Europeans did not arrive in Peru until 1531 when the Spanish landed on the territory and discovered the Inca civilization. At that time, the Inca Empire was centered in what is present-day Cuzco but it stretched from northern Ecuador to central Chile (U.S. Department of State). In the early 1530s Spains Francisco Pizarro began searching the area for wealth and by 1533 had taken over Cuzco. In 1535 Pizarro founded Lima and in 1542 a viceroyalty was established there that gave the city control over all Spanish colonies in the region.Spanish control of Peru lasted until the early 1800s at which time Jose de San Martin and Simon Bolivar began a push for independence. On July 28, 1821, San Martin declared Peru independent and in 1824 it achieved partial independence. Spain fully recognized Peru as independent in 1879. Following its independence, there were several territorial disputes between Peru and neighboring countries. These conflicts eventually led to the War of the Pacific from 1879 to 1883 as well as several clashes in the early 1900s. In 1929 Peru and Chile drafted an agreement on where the borders would be, however it was not fully implemented until 1999 and there are still disagreements about maritime boundaries.Beginning in the 1960s, social instability led to a period of military rule that lasted from 1968 to 1980. Military rule began to end when General Juan Velasco Alvarado was replaced by General Francisco Morales Bermudez in 1975 due to poor health and problems managing Peru. Bermudez eventually worked at returning Peru to a democracy by allowing a new constitution and elections in May 1980. At that time President Belaunde Terry was re-elected (he was overthrown in 1968).Despite its return to democracy, Peru suffered severe instability in the 1980s due to economic problems. From 1982 to 1983 El Nino caused flooding, drought and destroyed the countrys fishing industry. In addition, two terrorist groups, Sendero Luminoso and the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement, emerged and caused chaos in much of the country. In 1985 Alan Garcia Perez was elected president and economic mismanagement followed, further devastating Perus economy from 1988 to 1990.In 1990 Alberto Fujimori was elected president and he made several large changes in the government throughout the 1990s. It has an executive branch of government that is made up of a chief of state and a head of government (both of which are filled by the president) and a unicameral Congress of the Republic of Peru for its legislative branch. Economics and Land Use in Peru Since 2006 Perus economy has been on the rebound. It is also known as being varied due to the varied landscape within the country. King’s attitude towards slavery Essay Reconciliation struck King as divinely just, and he recommended the same practice for the United States. He suggested that this was the only moral and practical way to bring the Negro’s stand-ups to a realistic level. Reconciliation in the form of compensation was such a good idea in King’s mind because the practice would support the freedom of the human personality and lead to a just society. He also believed that it would make freedom real and substantial for the black people. He never believed that the mere absence of desegregated public accommodations would fully free the human personality and establish a just society. Although many whites were against him, he began to emphasize his belief that real and substantial freedom as well as the mandates of the just society, require not desegregated public facilities but also the economic goods that would allow blacks to use such facilities. King equated freeing the blacks and leaving them just like that to giving a pair of shoes to a man who has not learned to walk. His point was that freedom from desegregation requires the material goods to enjoy freedom from integration. King’s own response to the Johnson administration was to post for state atonement for the Disadvantaged. In King’s view, just as the state properly compensated World War II veterans for the time they spent away from their home, jobs, so too should it compensate blacks for their years of enslavement. He argued that only a few people considered the fact that in addition to being enslaved for two centuries, the Negro was during all those years, robbed of wages of his toil. He believed that no amount of gold could provide adequate compensation for the psychological turmoil caused by slavery, but that a price could be placed upon unpaid wages. King’s extra marital affairs It is clear that King did a lot of good deeds, most of which were based on pure ethical standards. However, there are some ethical challenges that were hard for him, and the most common is the sexual relationships with many women. Two years after King married his wife Coretta, he began his work in the civil rights movement. He left his young wife and baby to pursue endeavors that would take him far from home, putting aside his wife, and while he was home, he spent a lot of time on the phone. His friends who were worried of what these extramarital affairs would do to his reputation cautioned him about the importance of avoiding the appearance of wrongdoing. They also cautioned him that due to his prominence, he would become the target of those seeking to discredit him. He was also warmed that women could become his downfall if he failed to resist this temptation. King failed to take these warnings. By the time he won the Nobel Peace Price of 1964, his relations with women outside his marriage were far from secret. Wiley Branton, a close associate of King approached him about the subject when he was unable to ignore the rumors. He told king that colleagues had expressed concern over his behavior and were worried that he was going to get hurt, but King was unresponsive. The topic again came up with another friend, and this time King responded that because he was away from home the majority of each month, sex served as a way to reduce his anxiety. King’s attitude towards money While king had a hard time resisting sexual temptation, the temptation to profit from his fame was by no means a temptation for him. His lack of desire for material possessions increased after he visited India. Even his wife sensed a change in him. When he won the Nobel Peace Prize, he donated the price money to the group, despite the objection of his wife. She wanted to put some of the money aside for college for their children, but King insisted that the money go in full to the SCLC. Later, when two board members suggested that he accept a salary from the organization, King declined the offer. He explained that his income from Ebenezer Baptist church and the sum that he kept from speaking and writing was enough to support his family. Conclusion Due to King’s legacy as a man of good man, his shadow persisted even after his assassination. The poor people’s campaign initially was identified with the martyred prophet, not with his successor. The goals King established, especially for the campaign of equality among the whites and the blacks were probably unreachable, but King-the-symbol remained untarnished by failure. In addition to the charisma of his leadership, King had clear strategies for achieving goals. He believed that besides the use of legal tactics, the federal government was a necessary ally. King believed that because of man’s sinfulness, a restraining force was needed. According to him, it was the government that could counteract collective evil. His ultimate goal in many of his campaigns was to force the federal government to act. Time after time, his strategy worked. From the term paper, it is clear that his leadership was two fold. He was able to mobilize blacks, while at the same time appealing to the consciousness of the whites. King’s influence was as a result of several factors. To African Americans, his background was rooted in the black community, he was a Baptist preacher, and his academic training combined with religious faith provided the leadership skills he needed. To white Americans, he was an African American with the extraordinary ability to convince them of the evil of segregation. His words carried a powerful punch that, while what he was saying about segregation was not new, he stirred a moral awakening. When Newton Minow delivered his first formal address as the newly appointed chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 1961, his speech triggered discussions about the role broadcasting, specifically the television played in the society. Minow’s Address to the National Association of Broadcasters elaborated on the critical task the broadcasting industry brings to the audience, in the case of television, the viewing public. He presented the harmful and constructive effects that the television possesses. Winow highlighted his major arguments on television’s negative or ill effects to viewers.It is a common knowledge that the viewers more especially the children of this generation will be devoting more of their time watching television – waiting for their favorite programs, switching channels and choosing programs they will be interested to watch or simply killing time. The premise was that the programs offered to the publics are not intelligibly cho sen and put on-air. Most networks air programs for the purposes of earning high ratings and viewership without really considering what the viewer will be getting from such programs.It is indeed true that TV works for one general function – to inform, but it seems like the broadcasting industry’s trend has done away with integrating or injecting values to the programs they air. With the current set-up or trend, the viewers are the ones at risk. According to Marsden, the disintegration or what was termed as fragmentation affected the religious and moral life in the United States over the decades when the mass media proliferated.With Minow’s account of the world currently living in a â€Å"television age† one of the worst effects would be such disintegration. This proves how immense the television can influence the viewing public. What the viewers see on television is often times accepted to be the truth and is treated as something to be absorbed and to some extent, be imitated or applied in real life. Stories and programs with themes about violence, revenge, murder and sex leave the viewer without morals or values to keep but in some cases make them believe that violence is justifiable.These details were some of the reasons why the FCC chairman illustrated the television shows as a vast wasteland. Television is one of the most powerful mass media which can reach millions of viewers with a single program at one sitting. With this great potential the television offers, Winow believed that the broadcasting industry should take advantage of this. Television industry should not just be satisfied of fulfilling its information function but it should make use of its power to educate, inspire, motivate, challenge and empower the loyal viewers.It is still good news that there are stil l a few programs that cater to the mentioned functions. Putting the viewers into consideration not only making them enjoy what they watch but also more importantly allow them to learn and decide for themselves. Minow emphasized that the broadcasting industry owes a lot to the viewing public, leaving the practitioners the challenge of giving back to the publics what they truly deserve. The public is given the choice and control over programs to tune in, and responsible broadcasting is all about providing them with quality programs to choose from.Television has a very big potential in molding the public, but along with this potential also comes a crucial responsibility of airing appropriate shows both for children and adults and other segments of the viewing public. Watchtower I have chosen to research post modern architecture. This piece is called â€Å"Watchtower† by Sigma Pole in 1984. He used a synthetic polymer paint and dry pigment on patterned fabric. He is a German painter. He grew up in East Germany but moved later with his family to West Germany in Witch. He studied at the Academy of Art. He was Inspired by the â€Å"Capitalist Realist† ant-style art. He has created a unique design with scaffold In this painting.It Is suggested to be a concentration camp (momma). It could be a hunters blind or even a guard's post. Pole used many combinations to complete this appalling with extended paintings of the watchtower and varying the scenes around it. He used a phosphorescent glow to accent the towers top. Pole used an abstraction along with many images to form this interesting painting. I like the textures of the background patterns on the left hand corner. It looks like it could be a metal material. There is even a path leading to the watchtower ladder and designs and lights for abstract detail.Post modern architecture was a movement of international style beginning from the designs in the sass's but coming into effect in the sass's. It is a different type of art. In my opinion, It Is futuristic with the use of older designs. It has a sense of motion with the lights and many patterns. Pole Is known for his use of multiple media wealth one canvas (earthlier). This Isn't your typical architecture but it does include the elements to appear as an architectural design. Some would say that he lived for others and put himself last as long as those he cared for were well. Review of Sources Davis (1995), Edwards (1987), and Meese (1992), shared the same thoughts on the life of Reagan. There is a since of flow throughout the books and the talk of his growing up and experiences. They deal with him growing up, going to school, and Hollywood. Edwards did an outstanding job with her book and kept directly to what she said she was going to talk about. Davis and Meese were more of a tribute to Reagan, but they seemed to stick with the main points. Reagan (1990) is giving is first hand experiences to the reader and does a very good job at it. He makes you feel as though you were there and part of what he was doing and going through. I enjoyed the book so much that I called his library in Simi Valley, California and bought a copy for myself. Evans (1988) and Lowe (1989) gave good supporting information that seemed to be pretty straight forward with the facts. The information that I read in their books agreed with what I had read in others, so I was quite impressed with them too, but not quite enough to go and buy the book. They ended up finding the country today known as Argentina. They were looking for a wide open place with plenty of resources and land to be work. They found exactly what they were looking for when they found Argentina. The tribes that came and lived in Argentina were nomadic. They lived life by following the animals. They survived by hunting, fishing, and gathering. For many this would have been a rough life and it was for many of them. To live back in the days as these people did was hard. You would have to be a good hunter and be able to find scraps such as berries, nuts, and roots. Spain became interested in Argentina in 1516 A.D. It was the first to colonize Argentina in 1516 A.D. There were no more than 105,000 native people living in Argentina before it was colonized. At first Guarani people, which were tribal groups of South America having the territory between Uruguay and Paraguay River, used the slash and burn method. Settlements were made up of 50 to 100 individuals. The most advanced group in the Northwest is the Huarpe, which lived in the Cuyo (mountainous area) in the Andean piedmont. Small groups of nomadic people settled in the remainder of the area. Native people barely survived after Argentina became independent from Spanish rule. The Tehuelches fled from the Pampas to southern Patagonia. Araucanians had already been living on the western edge of Patagonia. They had fierce warriors. Spaniards arrived in southern Chile and battled the Inca army and stopped them from spreading into that region. The Tehulches and Araucanians began acquiring horses in the 1600s from the Spanish. In 1520 Ferdinand Magellan sailed to Argentina and met the natives of Patagonia. In the early part of the 1500s the population of Argentina was 750,000. Many people traveled north to Paraguay. The territory of Argentina started to make its way of boundaries during the sixteenth century. People started to migrate across seas with ships. Europeans moved to the country in the nineteenth century. There were a lot of different groups of people and languages in this country. The main language was Spanish, but there were also languages such as: French, Italian, German, British, and Japanese. You also have to remember that there was still the Indian tribes and the African American slaves. With all these groups together now, it made Argentina a culture that was diversified, or mixed. Most of the people in Argentina were Republicans. Most of the indigenous people living today in Argentina live in rural areas. They only represent about 10 percent of Argentina. Buenos Aires is known to have the most indigenous people living in it. Indigenous people live in small groups. The indigenous people that arrived were dark skinned, and lived in groups with chiefs. There were two main groups. One of the groups was known as the Diaguita. The Diaguita is known to have prevent the Incan empire form expanding. They also built dwellings. The other group was known as the Guarani. They used slash-and-burn. These groups both consisted of doing agriculture. Their main crop was maize, which today we know it as corn. These people descended from Peru. It happened because of an economic growth. They are known to have founded Salta, San Salvador, La Rioja, and San Fernando. There is also another movement. It is the Western population movement. They founded San Juan, San Luis, and Mendoza. This movement started in Chile. All these population movements mostly settled into urban areas instead of large areas with a lot of land. I dont know why they would do this because if I was migrating to a country I would think of trying to get the most land that I could. The immigration has affected the culture of Argentina. More than one-third of the country lives in Buenos Aires, which is the capital. Many of the people are gauchos or wanders of the countryside. The culture is very different, but it has created many ideas in Argentina. There are great artists, musicians, writers, and many more things in Argentina. One of their famous cultural dances is the tango. The culture has many fiestas which are celebrations. The most common food in Argentina is meat. They raise animals to sell and use the food. Many of the people of Argentina visit family and friends during their spare time. They like to play sports also. One of their most common sports is soccer. Gallipoli Gallipoli, a favorite war movie of mine, is an Australian movie of the fateful First World War battle of Gallipoli. Directed and co-written by the talented Australian native Peter Weir; Gallipoli is a wonderfully written drama about two best friends, Archy Hamilton and Frank Dunne, who put aside their hopes and dreams when they join the war effort. The first half of the film is devoted to their lives and their strong friendship. The second half details the doomed war efforts of the Aussies, who are no match for the powerful and aggressive Turkish army.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The story begins in Australia during the early stages of the War in 1915 where two young men become friends and decide to enlist together. They pursue their goal, go through training in Egypt, and wind up in Turkey at Gallipoli, one of the early and important engagements of the conflict. The first main character is country boy rancher named Archy Hamilton played by Mark Lee, who is being trained by his uncle as a world-class runner, but Archy who dreams of romance and excitement is eager to run away from the center of nowhere and become a soldier.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Archy meets the city kid Frank Dunne, who is played by Mel Gibson, when he beats him in a track meet. Archy convinces Frank of the advantages of enlisting for God and and the country, and they decide upon joining the Light Horse Cavalry. The only trouble is that Archy is not old enough to enlist and Frank can't ride a horse. Overcoming these obstacles, Archy finally signs up against the wishes of his family. The second half of the film recounts their exploits just before and during the fateful battle of Gallipoli. In Egypt, Frank and his friends are camped near the Pyramids and spend their free time in the city of Cairo, drinking, getting ripped off by merchants and visiting brothels. During a chaotic training exercise, Frank and Archy meet once again and Frank is able to transfer to the light horse because they are now being sent to the Gallipoli peninsula as infantry and not have to ride the horses. Frank and Archy arrived at Anzac Cove and endure the hardship and boredom of trench warfare that went on for much of the campaign. Based on their findings, well-educated and older workers are less likely to change their jobs and employees and workers receiving high wages or health insurance are much less likely to leave their jobs. Their findings further reveal that there are other reasons why workers are reluctant to leave their job despite of a better option available to them. However, the study concludes that job-lock is reduced when there is an assurance of continuation of insurance coverage for one year if a worker leaves job for another. The information I learned from this study is that people valued their jobs more based on what they gain in terms of health needs. Insurance coverage pertains to health issues and workers would rather chose lower wages with a good insurance benefit than higher wages with less insurance benefit. That is, workers are more conscious of their physical welfare than earning more money. While the authors did a great deal of efforts for this study, I would that their efforts are greater than their findings. This is because workers are not tied up to their jobs. They can leave or resign any time if they feel that their job does not provide them well. It means that they knew what is better for them regardless of the opportunities around them. Apparently, people are more secured and well provided in their jobs. The issue therefore was not about job-lock nor the insurance coverage, but where they feel secure and at the same time provided.

Writers block has always been an issue for not only authors but also for average Joes like me. It can be difficult to do any kind of writing when you are chained by your own mind. This is an immense issue because authors cannot develop ideas to put them into action on the page. Although there are many ways that writers do away with writers block, the best solution for is to take a pen to paper and just start letting ideas flow randomly onto the page so that your mind can break free. This solution is called free writing.Free writing is not only good for unblocking your mind, but also to keep your thoughts on the page so that you can keep your soul at peace. The idea behind free writing is that you must keep your pen to paper the whole duration of the writing session. Usually free write sessions are short, to get thoughts flowing before working on traditional piece. If you are not able to come up with a next word just write â€Å"blah, blah, blah† until something clicks. This ma kes it so that the writer must not pause to think of his next word, which keeps this form of writing completely free from thought interruption making it all from your heart.Traditional writing is when you have structure behind the piece of work and it must comply with standard grammar, spelling, and punctuation. This can impede with natural creativity by making a maze that you must find your way through in order to complete your piece of work. So many authors have trouble expressingtheir ideas and thoughts on a page when society tells them that they have to oblige by these rules.
